Special Update: The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival

I'm sure, by now, most of you have heard of Blog Carnivals. Some of you may have even discovered The Marketer Review through a Carnival. Well, I'm happy to announce I'm starting a carnival of my own: The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival!

Carnival

What's a Blog Carnival?

I'm very well aware that some of you are just starting out your blogging experience, and may not know what a Blog Carnival is. I think it's important you get to know it, as it's a great internet marketing tool.

A Blog Carnival is simply a blog post, that issues a list of links to different articles, from different blogs, all surrounding the same theme. The post could be as elaborate as this, or as simple as this. A typical carnival looks like this, divided into sub categories and quotes the article submitter, stating the blogger's name, the blog's title and the specific article's title.

Why is a Blog Carnival Such a "Great Internet Marketing Tool"?

For a blogger, there are a couple of advantages to submitting an article to a Blog Carnival: You get a free link to your blog. If you submit every week, to a few Carnivals, the links start accumulating substantially. Not only do you get a nice addition to your traffic, but you also have something to show for, when the Google Page Rank and Technorati Authority spiders come crawling. And because Blog Carnivals are themed, you're getting highly targeted traffic, who are specifically interested in your niche.

For a carnival host, such as myself, the main advantage is creating more original content and being able to provide useful material to my readers.

The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival

I'm very excited to announce my first attempt at organizing a carnival, The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival. I have ambitions to make this a weekly carnival, presenting a myriad of reviews, tips, tricks and advise, from my fellow bloggers, each Sunday.

If you want to submit an article to The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival these are the guidelines:
  • The articles must be in the niche of internet marketing and professional blogging. You've read this blog, you know what it's all about Winking
  • Articles should fit the following categories:
    • Product Review
    • Blog Review
    • Book Review
    • Advise
  • No duplicate content - if I've published your article before, please don't resubmit the same article!
  • No Spam - May god protect you from my wrath, if you ever dare submit a hypey sales page, instead of a well thought out article. The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival is here to promote your blog, not your affiliate links.

That should cover it. If you're interested in submitting your articles to The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival, just click here and fill out the short application form.

Hope to see you there, at the first edition of The Marketer Review Sunday Carnival, on the 4th of May!

All Aboard the ClueTrain - The Internet Marketing Bible

The ClueTrain has been on track since 1999, and what used to be its prophesy is now full on reality.

I’ve heard of the Cluetrain before, I’ve even reached the site on numerous, separate occasions, but I never really stopped to read it. A week ago a friend recommended it, so I read it, and boy does that prove the Cluetrain point!

What’s a Cluetrain?

The Maven Matrix Manifesto - A Guide to Self Branding

Rich Schefren had only released The Attention Age Doctrine Volume 2, three months ago, and already he’s come up with his next big report: The Maven Matrix Manifesto.

Rich Schefren has been keeping busy, and lately he’s also managed to get into my good graces. I’m starting to think maybe The attention Age Doctrine Part 1 was just a slip up, because when Schefren wants to, he really gives his readers value.

The S.M.A.R.T.S Report- A Smart Report for Smart Social Marketing

I’m not in the habit of giving any one particular marketer the spotlight, on a bi-weekly basis, but Stompernet just keeps on giving. This week is all about the S.M.A.R.T.S Strategy Guide.

SMARTS

Not a Glorified Sales Letter

Why do marketers publish reports? (All together now: ) To sell us on their product! (Very good! Laugh ) Joking aside, if you’ve been reading The Marketer Review for a while, you should be wise to this, by now. Most of the reports, e-books, white papers, top secret leaked chapters are glorified long-copy sales letters.

Now, I know I must have shattered all your dreams of a free information internet, but all is not lost. Note I have said the word “most”. Some reports are a wonderful collection of data that is very useful and maybe, can’t be found anywhere else. (That state of events doesn’t last long as a popular idea comes along, the copycats and other vulture-like animals will be sucking its bones dry within a matter of days.) The S.M.A.R.T.S report is such a report.

The Attention Age Doctrine Volume Two- Revisiting the Sales Tactics of a Marketing Genius

It’s happening again. My mailbox is well overstuffed with internet marketers newsletters as it is, but that isn’t enough for them. I need to know something. I need to know that Rich Schefren has finally released his Attention Age Doctrine Part Two!

The Attention Age Doctrine Part 2

Honestly? After reading part one, I was already sharpening my pitchfork. Winking

Web 2.0- Hugging for Attention

The Free Hugs Campaign is a great lesson in viral marketing.

While surfing MyBlogLog.com (a must have for any serious blog author, who is interested in networking 5 stars - Check it out in the Hotlist I've been blocked from MyBlogLog after they started colabarating with Yahoo. Never got a reply from the staff- very disappointed, they are off the Hotlist.), I stumbled upon a blog, that featured the following video*:
