Guy Kawasaki’s How to Drive Your Competition Crazy - Myths and Legends of the Marketing Business

I’m a bit late in reading How to Drive Your Competition Crazy, but that doesn’t mean this book is in any way out of date. What was true in marketing in 1995 is still true today. As we all know, some things don’t change, the most prominent of those is our nature.

Guy Kawasaki doesn’t really need an introduction, but for those of you who haven't heard of him just check out his site, he doesn’t hide much. I will say he’s a businessman, an entrepreneur and an inspiring speaker.

Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover

Mark Joyner’s Mind Control Marketing - Fascinating, but Do You NEED it?

What can we- internet marketers- learn from psychology, sociology, physics, military tactics, sports plays and politics? Mark Joyner believes that we con learn to control the minds of others.

I had recently ordered a tall stack of marketing books from Better World Books. Seeing as my stack had a few Mark Joyner books in it, and I am very curious as to this man’s success (in a good way! Foot in mouth ), I added Joyner’s Mind Control Marketing online rerelease, as well.

Michael Port’s Beyond Booked Solid - Planing a Business You’ll Love to Work In

I’ve been given a marvelous opportunity by Michael Port, who’s dared to ask me to review his second book, Beyond Booked Solid and kindly sent me a manuscript, pre-print (yes this is a first for me- I’m kinda psyched Laugh)

Who’s Michael Port?

Don’t worry, I didn’t know either. Apparently the reason for that is because I don’t read The Wall Street Journal. (I know, I know... Spank me later Winking ) Truth be told, try as I might, I couldn’t find any bad reviews of Port’s books or services. You can check him out for yourself at his site and his YouTube channel and just for fun, take a look at his acting rap sheet, too. The Short version of it is that Michael Port is a business teacher (‘cause the word guru has been tortured to death and needs some time to heal Angry ), a speaker and author and a bit of a philosopher. As is evident in his writing, which is profound, yet applicable.

Profound, yet Applicable

Yaro Starak’s How to Start an Internet Business - Patience is a Virtue

I’ve been talking a lot about mindsets, lately. With you, with my friends and with colleagues. One thing becomes more and more apparent, every day: You can’t teach it!

This doesn’t mean you give up, all together, on learning it. On the contrary! We must study it all the time- over and over again- and strive to experience it. That’s the reason I keep posting inspirational and mindset material to The Marketer Review. The repetition of ideas and the small differences between different sources, give you a fuller notion of the mindsets that will lead to your success.

The Makings of a Good Teacher

Teachers in the field of internet marketing write many books. Money aside, the reason for that, is that a good teacher will notice the questions asked by his/her students, and advance the lessons accordingly. A good teacher grows with their students. This is what Yaro Starak has done with his book, How to Start an Internet Business. (You need to subscribe to Entrepreneur's Journey's RSS feed, and the link to download the book will arrive in the feed.)

Starak could have written yet another make money blogging book, but, frankly, I, for one, would feel cheated, if he would have. Fortunately, he decided to talk about something else entirely...

The Rise of the Author - More than a Free Marketing Report

I’d love to call Mark Joyner the most revolutionary man in our industry, but he’s not just an internet marketer and hasn’t just been one for a long time.

The more I read Joyner the more I tend to like him

I’ve written before that it wasn’t love-at-first-site-visit for me and Mark Joyner, but my respect for this man deepens with each amazing launch he makes. While others talk about giving value to your prospect, Joyner owns it.

A look at The Rise of the Author

First of all: Go read it. Just do it- it’s that good. What’s so good about it?

Mark Joyner’s Simpleoligy 101 - A Belated Review

A year ago, I opted-in to Mark Joyner’s Simpleoligy system. I never used it, until today.

Simpleoligy101

What took me so long?

When I first opted-in to Mark Joyner’s Simpleoligy (new on the Hotlist), I was still an internet marketing newbie. Subscribing to every free newsletter, I can get my grubby little hands on (which I still do Foot in mouth ) and reading every word, like it was god-sent (which I don’t anymore). I was also a tech newbie. Didn’t know much about the net and all it’s magical applications. Weighing under all these newsletters, I randomly stumbled onto the Simpleoligy 101 page, through my email routine. It didn’t look simple at all. I was overwhelmed and annoyed. So off I went, never to return to my own, personal Simpleoligy cockpit, again.

So why did I come back?

We’ve all seen “The Apprentice” and the savvy listeners among us have all learned something about business, through it (mainly about self discipline and taking responsibility for ones actions). The 30 Day Challenge- Selfless Giving Exists in the Internet Marketing World

The 30 Day Challenge is an incredible resource - for newbies and veteran internet marketers, alike.*

Kathy, left us this comment, last week:**

Hi - I totally agree that there are many unscrupulous people out there who will offer overnight riches, take your money then disappear. I got caught by a couple of them. I have just been part of the 30 Day Challenge where ethical methods of learning IM are taught. The training is free and you are taught how to make your first $10 without spending any money. I can’t tell you how valuable this training has been for me. The official challenge ended 31/8/07 but the website is staying up for others to use. Please try it, it’s not a scam, it’s ethical and it is free. (www.thirtydaychallenge.com)

Of course, I can never bear the temptation of checking out yet another marketing program. So, off I went, to The 30 Day Challenge page, to see what Kathy has been raving about.
