Last week, I talked about Knowlage@Wharton and
what a profound effect it had on my brain. This
reminded me of another wonderful (I mean that
literally) website, that I frequently rest at,
TED.

In an innocent time, when the word “strange”
had any viable effect on a listener, Earl
Nightingale named his inspirational recording The
Strangest Secret. Sadly, we can’t say we evolved
too much, as the word “secret” still works wonders
on us.
I truly believe that
the most inspiring material I find - I find it in
unsuspected places. Such is the case of Earl
Nighingale’s Strangest Secret, which I was
sent, by a friend from Mixx. The
Secret really isn’t so strange, and to many of
us may be even common knowledge, by now. But
nothing can replace the perfect words of a well
polished idea, and that’s exactly what
Nightingale’s skit is all about. It’s a half
hour piece, so grab a cup of Joe and have a sit
and listen to what the man has got to say.
(Nightingale is mostly targeting men in the
broadcast, but this, of course, relates to
women, too!)

Secret

Like most second editions the changes made to
the Authority Black Book 2008 aren’t huge, but
they’re very necessary.
Authority Black Book 2007
I read the
Authority Black Book 2007 as a beginner blogger,
about a year ago. It was very overwhelming and very
essential. I used it as a checklist of things that
must be done, in order to forward my online
ventures. A friend sent me the
2008 edition
of Authority Black Book, a couple weeks
ago, and I had realized I have yet to mention
this interesting tool.
What’s new in Authority Black Book
2008?

John Chow is a very controversial figure in the
blogging-for-money landscape. This is probably the
reason why he makes so much money.
Living proof you don’t need to rank #1 on
Google
John Chow has been
famously penalized by Google and he simply
doesn’t exist, as far as Google is concerned.
But you couldn’t not find him, even if you
tried.

The ClueTrain has been on track since 1999, and
what used to be its prophesy is now full on
reality.

I’ve heard of the
Cluetrain before, I’ve
even reached the site on numerous, separate
occasions, but I never really stopped to read
it. A week ago a friend recommended it, so I
read it, and boy does that prove the Cluetrain
point!

I’d love to call Mark Joyner the most
revolutionary man in our industry, but he’s not
just an internet marketer and hasn’t just been one
for a long time.
The more I read Joyner the more I tend to like
him
I’ve written before that
it wasn’t love-at-first-site-visit for me and Mark
Joyner, but my respect for this man deepens
with each amazing launch he makes. While others
talk about giving value to your prospect, Joyner
owns it.
A look at The Rise of the Author
First of
all:
Go
read it. Just do it- it’s that good.
What’s so good about it?

A year ago, I opted-in to Mark Joyner’s
Simpleoligy system. I never used it, until
today.
What took me so long?
When I first opted-in
to Mark Joyner’s Simpleoligy (new on the Hotlist),
I was still an internet marketing newbie.
Subscribing to every free newsletter, I can get my
grubby little hands on (which I still do

) and reading every word, like
it was god-sent (which I don’t anymore). I was
also a tech newbie. Didn’t know much about the
net and all it’s magical applications.
Weighing under all these newsletters, I
randomly stumbled onto the
Simpleoligy 101
page, through my email routine. It didn’t
look simple at all. I was overwhelmed and
annoyed. So off I went, never to return to my
own, personal Simpleoligy cockpit, again.
So why did I come back?

Heather Vale is one clever affiliate marketer.
Using her own set of skills, she manages to make
the most creative affiliate site, I’ve ever
seen.
We’ve talked about getting your free internet
marketing education from
blogs, from
email
subscriptions, from
video… It’s time to talk audio.
It’s very easy to make a video nowadays, so most
people forget there are other options. Audio
recordings are, surly, not as attractive as video,
but I find that they have a time saving benefit to
the listener. To watch a video you have to stop
what you’re doing and focus on it. An audio
recording can be downloaded to your ipod or mp3
device and you can listen to it on your morning jog
or while you’re driving. Definitely something
worth-while, for an information marketer, to look
at.

The 30 Day Challenge is an incredible resource
- for newbies and veteran internet marketers,
alike.*

Kathy, left us this comment,
last week:
**
Hi - I totally agree that there are many
unscrupulous people out there who will offer
overnight riches, take your money then disappear.
I got caught by a couple of them. I have just
been part of the 30 Day Challenge where ethical
methods of learning IM are taught. The training
is free and you are taught how to make your first
$10 without spending any money. I can’t tell you
how valuable this training has been for me. The
official challenge ended 31/8/07 but the website
is staying up for others to use. Please try it,
it’s not a scam, it’s ethical and it is free.
Of course, I can never bear the
temptation of checking out yet another marketing
program. So, off I went, to
The 30 Day
Challenge page, to see what Kathy has been
raving about.

virally.

Lately I feel there’s this
strange myth going around, that the only way
to make money over the web is by going into
the information product niche. This is
complete shit.

Why use a blog to market your online business?
Because you have to!
Why a Blog?
Any veteran on-line marketer
will tell you that you are not selling a product;
you are offering a solution to a problem. Does this
sound like a sales pitch? Maybe it's what the
internet marketer is pitching to himself, to feel
better about what he does. From where I'm standing,
there is nothing morally wrong with that. The
internet has long adopted a
you-scratch-my-back-I-scratch-yours attitude. In
other words: Community.
The truth is, even if you're not considering using
a blog for your marketing, you probably have no
choice.
