We’ve all seen “The Apprentice” and the savvy
listeners among us have all learned something about
business, through it (mainly about self discipline
and taking responsibility for ones actions).
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a show like that
for internet entrepreneurs? Well, there is. And
it’s been running for quite a while,
actually.
Meet The Next Internet Millionaire
The
Next Internet Millionaire is a joint
venture between Joel Comm and
Eric
Holmlund. It’s a reality show, that
broadcasts only on the net and it’s about- you
guessed it- internet marketing. The idea is
based on the very basic reality contest show
model: Twelve contestants are grouped off and
in every episode a task is given and each
group must do the best they can to fulfill the
task. The group that fails, goes into the
board-room, where they get grilled some more
and one contestant gets excluded from the
show. Each episode someone gets eliminated,
leaving one winner, by the end of the show.
The winner gets to joint venture with Joel
Comm.
The educational value of the show
Apart
from the entertainment factor, which is very well
done, on the show, I really think there are
learning opportunities, in this production. Guest
speakers of the most formidable variety are
featured, on every episode. Although you don’t get
the full content, the contestants do, there are
many tips and tricks to be cashed to your little
black box of skills (you better have one, by now

).
Watching the contestants, whom are all very
different from each other, you could learn a
variety of ways to approach your marketing. You can
really get a boost of confidence to your own
personal style, seeing there are all kinds of ways
to do it. If it’s down and dirty like
Thor Schrock, or quiet, good natured creativity
like
Jaime Luchuck, or even offbeat inventiveness
like
Trippy Charles. Find your own voice and the
rest will fall into place, naturally.
The Twist
Well, this is the World Wide Web
and a site wouldn’t be complete without a
forum
and an internet marketer’s site wouldn’t be
complete without a twist. Clicking on the
“
Earn
Money” button on the sites navigation row,
you will be brought to the “one of a kind, one
time offer”. This is not free stuff, this is
something you need to purchase. Joel Comm,
again, is doing his savvy marketing. Could it
be that this whole production’s purpose was to
sell you this product?
To be fair, we’re all out here to make money. I
think Comm has gotten himself into a very
interesting product launch- one that is probably
making history, as we speak. This is his most
adventurous venture I’ve stumbled upon and it makes
the world of internet marketing that much more
interesting. I, for one, commend it. It made my
drawn out research routine of sales letters and
affiliate offers a little more entertaining. Only
time will tell what sort of implications this
project could have on the future of internet
marketing. It’s definitely pointing the way of
joint ventures and heavily produced productions,
but it has yet to depart from those sleazy long
copy sales letters.
As far as free education goes, this is probably the
most entertaining way, I found. You got to know a
little about it, beforehand, though, or you might
get lost in the terminology.

The Next Internet Millionaire is
fine family entertainment with a well niched
twist.
